Giuseppe Barilaro was born in Catanzaro in 1988. He studied at the Institute of Art of San Giovanni in Fiore and in 2017 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown. In 2012 he began his exhibition career and, the following year, he obtained the MIUR award for best student in Painting.
His artistic method, aimed at investigation and material experimentation, led him to work on ductile and scratchable supports such as wood and with innovative techniques, although always accompanied by an expertly mastered traditional gesture.
Among the most important exhibitions are those at the Palazzo Ducale di Maierà in Cosenza (2015), at the Museo Civico Palazzo Penna in Perugia (2020) and at the Monumental Complex of San Giovanni in Catanzaro (2022). Barilaro also boasts some significant exhibition experiences in China, Iran and the United States.
